Summer doesn’t have to be expensive. Here are 10 affordable activities to enjoy in Tulsa, Oklahoma this Summer!


Play at the Gathering Place

A beautiful riverfront park in Tulsa’s prime location, recently voted America’s best new attraction. It really is a park for everyone with new events held almost everyday! This summer includes events such as Story Time, Dog Play Wednesday, Movie in the Park, Yoga, Pilates and much more.

The best part? It’s all free. Talk about affordable activity for the whole fam! Seriously you have to check it out.

Eat and Play at Mother Road Market

Mother Road Market is Tulsa’s first food hall (yup, were growing every week!). This cute venue has indoor seating and a large outdoor patio. Mother Road Market hosts over a dozen vendors, meaning you never have to worry if your crew can’t agree on a place to eat! Family friendly and date night friendly (meaning yes, there is a bar hehe).

Some food vendors include: Umami Fries, Nice Guys Shrimp Shack, Oklahoma Joes BBQ, Andolinis Sliced and much more!

Go to A Drillers Game Baseball Game

Tulsa’s favorite minor league baseball team never disappoints! Well, maybe with the score but never with the fun! The stunning ONEOK field has been home to the Tulsa Drillers for nearly 10 years. May i suggest a game on Thursday? $2 domestic beers and $4 craft beers all night long.

If Thirsty Thursdays aren’t really your jam, Sundays at ONEOK are all about the kiddos. Kids under 12 receive a coupon and eat free of charge!

Find Creativity with Phillbrook Museum of Art

“Two locations one world class museum” Now with an added location in Downtown Tulsa, Phillbrook isn’t shying away from their events and activities! General Admission is less than $10 with an added discount for seniors and large groups! 

Some upcoming events include various art camps (multiple locations), Philbook Friday: First Friday (Midtown location), Philbrook Friday: First Friday Art Crawl (Downtown Location), Studio Saturdays, and Friday Burger Night ($5 Admission)!

Get Your dance on at Cains Ballroom

An iconic staple in Tulsa. There is no better time than summer to enjoy a patio dinner downtown before heading to a concert at Cains! Cains Ballroom hosts artists across the music spectrum, so there’s no reason you shouldn’t be dancing your way through summer!

Check Out a Film at Circle Cinema

Circle Cinema is Tulsa’s only nonprofit and historic art house theatre. Originally opened in 1928, Circle Cinema is Tulsa’s oldest-standing movie theatre. Their mission is to “educate, enlighten and entertain their guests 365 days per year through selected features and programs that expose and connect our community to global issues, environments and cultures.”  Sounds pretty awesome to me!

Take a Tour of Woody Guthrie Center


You might know Woody from his iconic American folk music. Does “This Land is Your Land” ring any bells? Turns out Tulsa has a whole center dedicated to him, and rightfully so! Wanting to learn more about Oklahoma history or educate yourself on  Woody’s inspirational mark in history, check out current events and hours here. Can you say perfect rainy day activity?

“Where Tulsa Comes Together”.  If you haven’t caught on yet, we’re really proud of our city and community! Just have a visit and you’ll see why! Guthrie Green wears every hat known to man. From Fitness on the Green to Sunday Concert Series to Movie in the Park every other Thursday, you’re sure to find your niche here!

Save your appetite for my personal favorite, Food Truck Wednesday! FTW hosts too many amazing restaurants to count. Live music, good vibes and out of the office? You need to be there!


See a Movie Under the Stars at Admiral Twin Drive-In

Recently completely re-built, the Admiral Twin Drive-In makes for an affordable summer night. Something off the beaten track in Tulsa!

Park and cozy up in your car to watch a movie on the big screen. Each night features four showings, two on either side of the big screen. Find your next movie night here!
