Photo Journal: Belize 2018
In the heart of Central America lies Belize. A gem of a country in all aspects.
The beaches are stunning, the seafood is as fresh as it gets, the diving is fantastic and the people are some of the most kind you will meet in your lifetime.
This was my third time to visit the beautiful country, and each time is just a little bit better than the last.
I went with my mom and we stayed on Ambergris Caye and took a day trip to Caye Caulker (for the first time!). Both are super cute, and although this wasn’t my first time to visit Ambergris Caye, I find that each visit brings something new.
The island is growing fairly quickly, but still very much has that “secluded from the rest of the world” island vibe.
I had never been diving in Belize on my previous visits, but I can say the diving lives up to its expectations. There is a ton of reef life and if you’re a fan of the underwater world, it is a must!
From Belize City, it is possible to take a hopper plane or fairy to Ambergris Caye. The hopper plane is a little bit more expensive, but the views are spectacular!
Ambergris Caye is bigger than Caye Caulker, but both are filled with stunning beaches, cute bars and restaurants, and plenty of accommodation options for all types of budgets! During our stay, we stayed at Captain Morgan’s, but there are plenty of hostels in town. If you’re skeptical about staying in hostels, read all about why you should here!
Below you can find my favorite photos and memories of my most recent trip to Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker in December 2018!
This is every night. Ah, the beauty of the free things in life.
More Lighthouse, Less Worry. Trust me. Also cheaper than a therapist… kidding, sort of.
Outside of the bungalow that my mama & I stayed in.
And this beautiful human is my mama! Friends meet Candia. A true angel and the reason why I never want to stay in a place for more than a few days… thank you mother for helping instill the love of travel in my DNA.
Secret Beach swims! You can rent a golf cart and drive outside of the town to find Secret Beach. The road might give you whiplash, but the road less traveled isn’t always easy am I right?!
Coffee Cocktails. That is all.
My type of morning.
The Truck Stop in Ambergris Caye. S’cute. Good food. Fun music.
Food I was talkin’ bout.
85 degrees & clear skies. My Heaven.
My other heaven. Belize has some of the best diving in the world! Did you know they have the second largest coral reef in the world?!
The in between dives life.
Until next time sweet Belize!
Have you been to Belize? What other islands and places should I visit?!
