Welcome to The Places Jo Goes
My name is Jordan and this is my online diary where i document my travels, photography, and lifestyle.
I currently live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and am a free spirited Midwest girl through and through. Here i will share with you everything from my travel advice, stories and inspiration to my personal thoughts and daily life.
I hope The Places Jo Goes will teach you something new and inspire you to live true to who you are!
There is no denying I am a lover of travel. The past three years have been filled with numerous different journeys
around the world.
Unsure of the direction I wanted to go when I graduated from college three years ago, I knew one thing to be true- I wanted to travel the world.
After graduation, I left my Okie home with a one way ticket to Europe.
I moved in with a Spanish family that live on the coast of the Mediterranean and worked as their Au Pair for a year, and we now claim each other as our own. After quickly becoming obsessed with tapas, vino, and all of the things that accompany moving abroad for a year, I knew this was only the beginning.
After working for some time back at home, it was time for another one way ticket.
This time: Southeast Asia and India. Over half a year of absolutely no plans, a backpack, and me, myself, and I.
After 28 countries under my belt, numerous experiences, and lots of lessons learned; The Places Jo Goes was finally established. The truth is, I’ve always wanted to start a blog about my travels and my life. But, timing is everything, and now The Places Jo Goes has become a passion.
My hope is that I am able to inspire others through my experiences; by being open and proving that no matter who you are or where you’re from, you really can live the life you imagine. Because if you haven’t heard it before, I’ll tell you now: It’s not where you’ve been, but where you’re going.
There’s a little saying by Dr. Suess in his book “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!”, in which he writes, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…”.
I believe the places we go are where we learn, grow, and create. Where we’re inspired. Where we discover joy and strength. And ultimately, where we find meaning in the story of our lives.
